Two  Judgments  Are  Ahead  -  Which  Is  For  You  ?

At the last day the heavens and earth will pass away with fervent heat (2 Peter      3:10), after that the judgment.  (Hebrews 9:27) All of mankind, male and female, will be required to stand before God to have each person’s life examined in detail.

Those who have not been reconciled to the Lord Jesus Christ and saved through His finished work on the cross will be consigned to an eternity in Hell (an actual place) to suffer the agony of separation from God. Psalm 9:17 states, “ The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”  That will be an awful scene and a heart-wrenching day for all of the participants.  YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS !!

The alternative, the Judgment Seat of Christ. (Romans 14:10) is where each of the saved will give account of himself /herself to God. (Romans 14:12) Every follower of Jesus Christ will be rewarded for his or her service for the Lord.  Once we are saved we are expected to use whatever talents we have to help others to come to Christ, by witnessing, preaching, teaching or even passing out tracts.

How can one get past the awful great white throne of judgment? Revelation 20:11,12 tells us, “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened.  And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.  And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

Picture two roads.  One road is wide and lined with attractive evils and is well traveled by many - this is hard not to take; but, it leads to eternal death, the separation from God. Matthew 7:13,14 says, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”  The fact that one would have lots of company in Hell won't ease YOUR pain.

The right path is not worldly attractive (because the pleasure is different) because one of the parameters is obedience to Gods word.  Obedience is usually not ‘our cup of tea’ so to speak. We like to do things our way.

The first step along the road to eternal life and joy is to recognize that one is a sinful person.  Romans 3:23 informs us “That ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Romans 6:23 continues with the fact “That the wages of sin is death.”  This is a spiritual death - the aforementioned separation from a loving God.

John 3:16,17 explains WHY God has provided a solution.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the would to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”  The ‘HOW’ is found in Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  To complete this transaction we need to follow Romans 10:9 which says, “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  How can we know for sure?  Romans 8:1 gives this assurance, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the (Holy) Spirit.”

If you have decided to leave the broad road to destruction and enter by the narrow gate the Roman highway to salvation, you can look forward to standing before Christ and receiving your rewards.  You can be a part of Psalm 144:15, “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!”
