How many people absolutely, positively care whether you live or die?  Most of us readily think that the number would be significant.  After all, we are good human beings aren’t we?  Some people think the number might be in the thousands!  Pessimists would have a relatively small number.  Does anyone think there are none?  If we examine the absolutely, positively, guaranteed number, some people might be in for a shock.

News stories, ad nauseam, contain examples of parents killing their own children; and children murdering their parents.  It is common, unfortunately, for a spouse to cause the final act.  Other ‘loved’ ones, neighbors, strangers, predators, extend the list of possibilities.

Whoever, if any, would be on your list, wouldn’t you like to add three names to the list, GUARANTEED ?  The “good news, therefore, is that the minimum is actually three!  Guaranteed, no matter who you are or what you have done.

In the familiar Bible verse, John 3:16 we read that God the Father loves you as you are of this world.  God has offered you an opportunity that you haven’t earned.  His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, died on a cross, giving His life, (before you were born), to validate this opportunity. In 1 Corinthians 15:3, the Apostle Paul writes, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.”

The third guaranteed is the Holy Spirit, who participates WITH us in this opportunity.  He works in our minds and conscience to help us realize that we are sinners and, therefore need the opportunity being offered. John 16:8 says, “And when He (Holy Spirit) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.”  The Holy Spirit helps us to understand the Scriptures that we read or hear.  John 16:13 continues with, “when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” In addition, He helps us talk to the Father. Romans 8:26 informs us, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.”.

This guarantee only ends if one reaches the end of this world without becoming a child of God.  How can one extend this guarantee?  In John 1:12 we read, “But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

The way to achieve this is to travel along “The Roman Road.”  Romans 3:23; 6:23; 5:8; 10:9, and 8:1.  Get out your Bible and begin a journey that you will never regret!
