Do  You  Have  Dual  Citizenship ?

Some countries prohibit their citizens from having citizenship in another jurisdiction because citizenship includes a loyalty.  America is one of the countries who allow this practice, by law.  Most people are loyal to the source of their citizenship.

The Bible says to the children of God (believers) in Philippians 3:20 “For our citizenship is in Heaven from which we also eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ.”  The Bible also reminds believers that they are in the world, but not of it.  We expect our citizenship in our country to last until we experience physical death.  Our citizenship in Heaven will be eternal!  1 Peter 2:11 continues the story, “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners (temporary visitors) and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.”  In other words, while we are on earth we should do our best to refrain from wrong doing.  In Heaven, with new bodies this will not be an issue.

Are you one who wants or needs this Dual Citizenship?  God has provided a way for you to do so.  Romans 5:8 tells us. “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Now  we understand God’s desire for us who are sinners by nature.  We really don’t need the Bible to tell us we commit sins, practices that are against God’s wishes.  He is a Holy and a Just God, we fall woefully short of meeting His standard.

Romans 10:9 gives us the next step toward citizenship in Heaven.  “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 8:1 gives us the certification, “There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”  Note: God is offering something you cannot earn!  Ephesians 2:8 explains, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God.”

If you have done as God has requested, CONGRATULATIONS, Bask in the many blessings of your new Dual Citizenship!
