Does God Hear Me Calling Him ?

In the Bible the book of Psalms states in Psalm 94, verse 9, “He that planted the ear, shall He not hear?”  Obviously God has the capability to hear.  The question then is, what does He allow in?  To what does He pay attention?

John 9:31 gives very important clarification, “Now we know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears Him.”  We have a problem since Romans 3:23 informs us that “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  We are doomed!  But wait, didn’t Christ pay the penalty for someone’s sins on a cross over 2000 years ago?  Yes, back to the book of Romans 5:6 we read, “For when we were without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”

How can that apply to me?  How do I get His attention?  If you are one of the many people who, when they are told of what God wants from them, tells Him, ‘don’t bother me’, then don’t you bother to call!  If, on the other hand, you repent and want to reach out to God, READ ON.  James 5:15 helps with, “The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise Him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (Note: the Hebrew word translated sick has a spiritual meaning.)  What specifically applies to me?

Back to Romans 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you call out to God to have mercy on you, a poor vile sinner, He, through the Holy Spirit, will respond to you.  As you study the Scriptures the Holy Spirit will help you understand what you are reading - God wants you to understand!  If you attend a solid, Bible-believing church, this can speed up the process.  Whether slowly or quickly, you can be assured by Romans 8:2, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free of the (God’s) law of sin and death. ‘

You can then consider that you are a part of the fulfillment of Psalm 65:1,2 -“Praise is awaiting you O God, in Zion; and to You the vow shall be performed.  O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come.”  EVERYONE will meet GOD on JUDGMENT DAY, either for REWARDS or BANISHMENT to HELL !
